Peppol is an EU initiative to streamline data exchange between businesses using one single standard.  It is a form of EDI, but simplified to remove complexity and reduce costs both within EU countries and on a cross-border basis.  The aim is to roll out PEPPOL for all dealings between business and public bodies, making it possible for B2B trading using PEPPOL to follow.
